Cost of mediation

The fee for mediation depends on whether you or your lawyer believe half a day will be sufficient for your case or if you will need a ¾ day or even a full day. Please be advised that any mediation extending 1 hour or more past the scheduled mediation time, shall be subject to overage fees of $200.00 per party per hour.

A one-half day mediation begins at either 9:00 a.m. and is completed by 1:00 p.m. or begins at 1:30 p.m. and is completed by 5:30 p.m. The mediation fee for a one-half day mediation is $500.00 per side.

A ¾ day mediation begins at 9:00 am and is completed by 3:00 pm.  The mediation fee for a ¾ day mediation is $650.00 per side.

A full day mediation begins at 9:00 am and is completed by 5:00 pm; for those appearing in person, lunch is provided by the mediator.  The mediation fee for a full day of mediation is $800.00 per side.

A deposit is required to be paid within approximately 14 calendar days from the date of the mediation confirmation.  If mediation is scheduled to take place within 14 calendar days, a deposit is required within 2 business days of the mediation confirmation. The deposit for half-day mediation is $250.00 and the remaining balance is due on the day of mediation.  The deposit for a ¾ day mediation is $325.00 and the remaining balance is due on the day of mediation.   The deposit for a full day of mediation is $400.00 and the remaining balance is due on the day of mediation.

You may pay your deposit by credit card, your attorney's firm check, cash or money order.  You may not pay any balance due on the date of mediation with a personal check; all other forms of payment are acceptable.  If you wish to pay your deposit with a credit card, you may use the electronic invoice that our office has sent to your attorney if you have one, or to you directly if you are representing yourself. You may also call our office, 817-284-5500, and we will take your credit card information over the phone.

In order to reschedule a mediation, the deposit must be paid by both parties before the mediation can be rescheduled. If the mediation is rescheduled a second time the deposit may be forfeited and full fees for the new date will be due at the time of booking the new date. If a rescheduled mediation is cancelled there is no refund of monies paid.

Once scheduled, mediation cannot be cancelled without the consent of both parties. To avoid cancellation fees, all mediations should be cancelled 10 business days before the scheduled mediation date. If cancelled within the 10 business days of the mediation date, then all fees paid will be considered an administrative fee and not refunded. If mediation is cancelled within 2 business days of the mediation date, full fees are due.
